Don Bosco Samphran Youth Center Sports Day

Samphran, Thailand, 27 September 2024 -- Throughout September 2024, Don Bosco Samphran Youth Center organized an annual sports day competition. This year, it was divided into 2 teams: the “Red” team and the “Blue” team.
The games and the competitions were divided into 2 days: Sunday the 15th and the 22nd. On the first day, there were various sports competitions such as football, futsal, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, snooker, petanque, e-sports, and Nerf gun shooting. On the last day, there was a parade contest with the theme of dreams, with the Red Team being “The Fire of Love That Sparks Dreams to Come True” and the Blue Team being “The Dream World, Let’s Take Care of It Together”.
The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of Father Aaron Alcoseba who presided at the opening ceremony, and Brother Worawut Jirasujarittham, the Center’s Director, as the senior sportsman who led the athletes’ oath-taking.
On 22 September 2024, there were various athletic competitions and native sports such as tug of war, sack race, cross country, cheerleading contest, and finally, the Salesian sports such as baseball, and ball war. This year's sports day received cooperation from members of the Salesian family, the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI), and benefactors who provided excellent support and cooperation.
The Don Bosco Samphran Youth Center is a Sunday youth center that allows children in the Samphran area to spend their Sundays productively and receive skills training through various activities. It is also a field for the apostolic work of the Novices, the Postulants, and the Salesian Brothers.
