Vincentius Prastowo SDB as the Provincial of INA also joined the workshop on the second day.
Every day began with morning prayer, meditation and Mass at 6 AM. Every day ended with evening prayer, spiritual reading, dinner, rosary and good night talk.
On the first day, the topics were the Roles and duties of Economers and Bookeeping & Reporting. The three important things for Economer of the house are Integrity, capability, and resources. Integrity is most important because capacity can be built and we can look for resources. On the second day, the topics were Employment and Sustainability. We talked about the importance of fulfilling the welfare of our employees, doing Savings, e.g. electricity, water, transportation, the efficiency of office equipment, etc., doing inventory, doing “Go Green” actions, Smart Financial Management and financial audits, and how to do Fundraising.
On the last day, the topics were Collaboration and Solidarity. We need Collaboration between Economers and we can use Google Workspace. Solidarity is not limited between houses in the vice-province, especially for those in greater need, but also from the vice-province INA to the Congregation (Rector Major). And then Father Provincial gave the closing remark.
After finishing the workshop, we made a short recreational visit to the “Nusantara” Flower Garden before going back to Jakarta and our respective places of apostolate. May God bless these Economers so that they can do their work with zeal for poor young people.
