Hong Kong, China, 12 August 2024 -- Our beloved Fr John Bosco Fung Tin-Chun, S.D.B. passed away in the Lord's embrace on the morning of 25 July 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Hong Kong.

The Salesians of Don Bosco CIN held a wake service for Fr Fung Tin-chun at St Anthony's Church in Hong Kong on Friday, 9 August 2024 at 8:00 pm, celebrated by Cardinal Zen. The funeral Mass was on 10 August at 9:30 am, celebrated by the Provincial Fr Domingos Leong, Teng-kok.

Fr Fung Tin-Chun was born on 8 December 1933 in Xinhui, Guangdong. He made his first vows in Hong Kong on 16 August 1954 and his perpetual vows in 1959. His priest ordination was on 6 April 1963 in Rome. Throughout his life, he served in schools and parishes.

Cardinal Zen reflected that Fr Fung was truly blessed, truly embodying the Salesian vocation - accompanying and educating the young for his entire life. He faithfully followed God to the end, tirelessly working, forgetting himself, and offering himself as a lamb for the young.
