Philippines South Province (FIS), 30 July 2024 -- Three schools in the Philippines South Province welcomed the school year 2024-2025 with a simultaneous grand opening on July 29, 2024. Don Bosco Technical College, Inc. Cebu, Don Bosco Technical Institute, Victorias, and St. Louis School-Don Bosco, Dumaguete, ushered in the new academic year with a program that welcomed the students, both old and new, in a style that is typically Bosconian: filled with music, dance, and joyful enthusiasm that hyped the expectations of the students.

The arrival of the new school year brings hope and excitement but with it are also the challenges that will propel the institutions into a better direction. Even with a decrease in student population, the schools does not diminish its standard of service. In fact, they are prepping up for an upgrade and a greater implementation of the Bosconian spirit.

The introduction of the MATATAG Curriculum proved to be a daunting task for the administrators, but it is a welcome one since it serves as a foundation for the Bosconian style of education. Another challenge is the requirement for standardization through accreditation. It requires a considerable amount of resources for the institutions to reach its goal to seek for higher things. All of these efforts will render the institutions more relevant and better able to serve its students.

Despite the challenges that lie ahead, the FIS Don Bosco Schools fear no hardships for it is in hard work and labor that brings out the best in each Bosconian.
