Don Bosco K'Long, Vietnam, 27 December 2022 -- Regular training days for SDBs aged 40-49 were held on the morning of December 19 to noon of December 22, 2022 at Don Bosco K'Long center.
The three-and-a-half-day regular training is organized in the spirit of the teachings of the Church and the Congregation mentioned in the Canons, Constitutions and Regulations: Salesians, after initial formation, must continue their formation in order to grow up in their vocation, to become more like Christ and to live a renewed fidelity to Don Bosco, in response to the ever-new demands of the situation of the young and the poor (Cons.118).
These days do not study a specific topic, but are like a spiritual exercise, inspired by the words of Pope Francis: Dream and make others dare to dream (March 17, 2020). The confreres participating were urged to share their dreams from the reality of their personal and community lives, and then connect with their early dreams when entering Salesian life, identifying obstacles to fulfilling their dreams; locating resources, hidden potentials and wounds that need healing, to chart a new exodus. The participants were finally made to understand that the key to everything is Inner Freedom, where they are guided by God, and need a plan to care for themselves so that Inner Freedom is always maintained. In the spiritual atmosphere of gathering together in the Eucharist and reflecting on the Word of God, sharing fraternal moments of sports and personal talks, the paticipants voiced the desires and reality of their individuals and communities lives, encouraging each other to be faithful and to live more fully their vocations.
Although the number of SDBs attending is large, not all were involved. Because of the pastoral work preparing for Christmas, many confreres were unable to attend. The Province will need to organize another regular training course for them.
