Anisakan, Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar 6 November 2022 -- The short visit of the EAO Regional, Fr. Joseph Nguyen Thinh Phuoc, SDB to the vice-province of Myanmar took place from October 28 to November 5 2022. Due to the limit of his time and critical political situations, he could visit only five communities, covering all formation houses. However, all the rectors and those in charge came to meet him at the provincialate where he gave the general conference to all the Salesians gathered for the funeral mass for Fr. Joachim Ye Maung, SDB.
As he visited the communities, a good number of Salesians and young people solemnly welcomed him with their colourful cultural presentations and performances. Wherever he went, he always imparted the loving message of our Rector Major to the audience, encouraging them, inspiring them to keep hope alive within themselves by sharing his very own life-experiences in Vietnam, and promising to pray and support them more.
We are sincerely grateful to Fr. Joseph Phuoc for visiting us even amidst this most challenging and risky situation, giving his precious time to listen to us one by one, and sharing our joys and sorrows, particularly the loss of Fr. Joachim. We continue to pray for him to be ever more prosperous in his mission to the end.
