Xuan Hiep, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 26 July 2019 -- We have just concluded the Provincial Community day. It started at 8 a.m. with the Eucharistic celebration in St John Bosco parish church (Xuan Hiep, HCM) celebrated by our Provincial, Fr. Joseph Nguyen Van Quang. At the end of the Eucharist, obedience letters for the new school year 2019-2020 were also distributed. Most of the Salesians gathered for this beautiful occasion, that will continue tomorrow with our priestly ordinations.
After the Mass, we gathered to listen to Father Provincial's dream for Salesians and the Salesian Mission in Vietnam - Mongolia: Don Bosco's educational and pastoral spirit of loving kindness would be gradually deeply rooted in Vietnam, especially in the tribal environments of the North, so that many poor and abandoned youth without education opportunities will be served by the Salesians in their true human growth.
Then followed a fraternal lunch at 11:30. Fraternity time in the afternoon involved football games with three teams - seniors, younger and youngest teams met on the same football field at Xuan Hiep Don Bosco.
Afterwards, at 2 p.m., we had a sharing in a Talk-show event when some elders and jubilarians shared their Salesian vocation journey.
July 27 are our priestly ordination. The Eucharist will start at 8:30 a.m.. Please accompany us with your prayer!
