Vinh Long, Vietnam, 7 June 2019 -- On 2 June 2019, the Salesian community of Don Bosco My Thuan held the Foundation Laying Ceremony for its new Chapel. For the last three years, the number of boarding students has increased significantly. There are currently almost 300 boy and girl students and the community chapel is too small to accommodate all of them.
Fr. Joseph Nguyen Van Quang SDB, the Provincial, presided over the rite of blessing of the land and the Mass. After the Mass, there was a reception party to celebrate the historical milestone of this Salesian work.
The Salesians and the students were grateful for the generous contribution from many benefactors to make the dream of the community to come true. Don Bosco used to say that the Chapel is the center of the whole community where the residents could meet God personally and communally.
The Salesians and students continue to pray for more contributions so the chapel can be completed on time to serve their spiritual needs. They appeal to the whole province and friends of Don Bosco
