Bangkok, Thailand, 26 April, 2019 -- On the evening of 24 April 2019, the members of the Association of Mary Help of Christians [ADMA], Thailand joined the ADMA world in celebrating its 150 years of foundation [1869 - 2019]. This was moved from the original date of 18 April because of the Holy Thursday liturgy. Fr John Lissandrin, the first chaplain of the group, was the main celebrant in the offering of the Holy Eucharist. He was joined by Fr Francis Cais, the confrere in-charge of the Salesian Family in Thailand, Fr John Tamayo, a former chaplain of the group, and Fr Aaron Alcoseba, the present chaplain. Many other faithful of Mary Help of Christians Church participated in the celebration, to venerate the Blessed Mother. During the celebration, the members of the Association renewed their promise of membership. At the end of the Eucharistic service, a procession of the statue of Mary Help of Christians was held around the church area.
The centre for ADMA Thailand is at the Church of Mary Help of Christians, Krungthep Kritha, Bangkok. This was started 16 years ago when the first twenty members offered their promise. Fr Francis Cais initiated the foundation of the group, and Fr John Lissandrin was the first chaplain. At present, the group has 50 members, meeting every last Sunday of the month.
