Interview with ASC Delegate Sr Ceciia Tse FMA

By Our Own Correspondent

Hong Kong, 22 January 2019 -- What makes you happy as the Salesian Cooperator’s Delegate?

What makes me happy as the Salesian Cooperator’s Delegate is the chance to get to know and work together with many brothers and sisters who love Don Bosco. As we have understood, we live out our baptismal consecration in three different ways – as priests, members of consecrated life and lay people. These vocations complement and enrich one another.

What helps CIN Salesian Cooperators to grow in their vocation?

For our Province, I think formation of our own vocations and Family Education are very important. Through Family Education, parents can help their children with discernment toward a Salesian Cooperators vocation.

What are the major challenges in vocation growth of the Salesian Cooperators?

In our province, a good number of Salesian Cooperators are no longer young. It does create many challenges.

How do you prepare yourself as delegate - formator? What do you need for your task?

Being a credible and joyful witness to my religious vocation; to deepen my knowledge of the spirit of Don Bosco and Mamma Margaret; to work together with the Salesian Cooperators to internalize the Project of Apostolic Life (PAL).

What exchange among the EAO Salesian Cooperator provinces do you dream about?

Involvement in EAO regional meetings is good. The EAO Formators workshop in Cambodia, I think, would be also helpful.

What do you expect from the EAO Formators Workshop in Cambodia?

I expect the presentation will help our formators know how to put into practice the guidelines for formation in our situation.

How do you put the four pillars of formation into practice : Know; Know how to do? Know how to be: Know how to live in communion?

I think it is important to make good discernment, to find out what we need most, what is our priority and how to proceed according to our context and situation. I think for our Province it is important to deepen the understanding of the Salesian dimension in which the fundamental objective is Salesian maturity, as in understanding and actualizing one’s vocation.
