Don Bosco Murcia, the Phlippines, 17 June 2025 -- The Salesians of St. John Bosco Parish and Shrine in Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental held their Youth Encounter program for 29 young people from the parish last June 12 to 14, 2025 at the Don Bosco Retreat House - Mambucal. These youth come from the different basic ecclesial communities of the parish which encompasses four villages on the slopes of Mt. Canlaon’s northern range in this municipality.
Fr. Rosmon Valenciano, SDB and Fr. Allen George Elevado, SDB facilitated the retreat. The participants were aged 15 years old and above. Participants were guided through understanding the Scriptures, personal reflection and group sharing.
The Youth Encounter is a program endorsed by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines as an intensive formation for youth. Salesians use the YE as a major stepping stone for getting young people onboard the life of the Church through an encounter with God and themselves in the scriptures.
