Salesian FIN TVET Educators Retreat

BAGUIO CITY, PHILIPPINES—A total of 228 educators from the nine TVET Centers in the Salesian Philippine North Province (FIN) took part in the TVET Educator’s Retreat on May 2 to 5, 2018. The theme of the day was ‘Sangtinig, ‘Sangkatig at ’Sangbuhay, which translates to Listening, Accompaniment, and Discernment. The Salesianity formation, organised by the FIN TVET Pastoral Team and funded by Don Bosco One TVET Philippines, Inc., took place at Sta. Catalina Spirituality Center in Baguio City.

All Academic Teaching and Non-Teaching staff from the nine TVET centers run by the Salesians of Don Bosco were present, together with their Salesian Rectors, TVET Directors, Spiritual Moderators, and Confreres.

The main preacher of the retreat, Fr. Renato M. Molina, SDB, gave three presentations centered on the Church’s teaching on Listening, Accompaniment and Discernment with several amusing practical exercises which caught the imagination of the audience.

There was also a presentation about Salesian Vocation by Fr. Jayson David, SDB. The talk focused on the roles of the teachers in cultivating the Salesian Vocation among the TVET Centers of Don Bosco Philippines.

The event culminated with the launching of the Don Bosco One TVET website, www.db1tvet.com and its online presence from the audio-visual presentation to various social media channels.

As Saturday, May 5th falls a day before the feast day of St. Dominic Savio, the Salesianity formation ended with a Mass in his honor, celebrated by Fr. Eliseo Santos, SDB.
