Anisakan, Myanmar (MYM), 29 January 2025 -- The General Councillor for Formation, Fr Ivo Coelho, SDB arrived safely at Don Bosco Provincialate, Anisakan, Myanmar at 3:30 P.M, on 27 January 2025. He was warmly welcomed with a welcoming song by Salesians and prenovices, and a speech by the superior Fr Bosco Nyi Nyi, SDB. After Fr Ivo’s words of thanks, group photo taking took place in front of the chapel of St. Joseph.
An animation program was organized on 28 and 29 January, and some 28 perpetually professed confreres attended. In his talks, he mainly focused on freedom in formation, formation as lifelong, and prayer in Salesian life. He often quoted the Constitutions and expounded them in a practical and interesting way that spontaneously flowed from his own life experiences. After each talk, sufficient time was given for interactive group discussion and sharing, as well as a Q&A session, where participants freely expressed and shared their insights and reflections with each other.
The vice-province is grateful to the Lord for the special gift of Fr Ivo who is willing and brave enough to visit Myanmar Salesians in this very critical moment of political crises.
