Gia Lai, Vietnam, 2 February 2023 -- Approximately 300 participants who were young people from the parishes of Plei Rongol Khop, Ba village, Dong Tam as well as eight parishes (Gialai Province – Vietnam) gathered at Plei Rongol Khop parish in the early afternoon of 31 January 2023, for the youth day themed "Don Bosco Youth Walks With Jesus", hosted by Salesian priests and brothers.
They assembled at 1:00 p.m. to put on the uniforms, take photos, break into teams, practise the theme song called "Finding Jesus" and join the concelebration mass at which the Rector presided. All took a break after the mass to get ready for the solidarity and funny games facilitated by the Salesians themselves. Another short break followed the activity before having dinner served by the collaborators. Musical performance came right after the meal, featuring extremely exciting and appealing numbers from each parish, alternating with quiz about Saint John Bosco’ s life.
As soon as the performance was over, the afternoon game result was announced with the first prize going to Don Rua team. There followed a sincere gratitude and congratulations extended to Rev. Father John Bosco Tien Dung on the Feast of St. John Bosco by the youth of Dong Tam Parish. Next was the heartfelt words from Father Vice-Rector which inspired the youth to be more enthusiastic, not only in this day’s celebration but throughout their lives of service. The Youth day concluded with three Hail Marys and a blessing from Father Rector to wish all participants a safe journey home.
