EAO Regional team - SF Days 2021 Online, 29 December 2020 -- The EAO Region is also getting ready for the 2021 Salesian Family Spirituality Days held online for the first time. On 28 December more than 30 members of 9 different SF groups took part in a 'Zoom' meeting led by Br Dominic Nam and Fr Joan Lluis Playa (World Secretariat for the Salesian Family, Rome): SDB provincials and provincial delegates for the SF, FMA sisters, Caritas Sister of Jesus, SIHM Sister, VDB, Salesian Cooperators, Don Bosco Past Pupils, ADMA and Damas Salesianas. We were ecouraged by the presence of two SDB provincials (FIS, KOR) and viceprovincial (GIA), delegation superior (Mongolia) and we missed only one Viceprovince (MYM) and three delegations (Pakistan, North Vietnam and Pacific).

During the 100 minute virtual meeting the SF group leaders and SF delegates gained some clear ideas and had a good opportunity to clarify the whole framework of this historic event when all Salesian Family members are invited to join without the need to travel to Rome or Valdocco. Here we report the essential facts agreed upon and shared among the EAO provinces:

WHO are the participants?

  • All 16 Salesian Family group members (see the table) found in our EAO provinces and among the Salesian Youth Movement.
  • We try to reach all SF group members, especially those who are not closely involved (e.g. Past Pupils of Don Bosco, CSMA, FMA Past Pupils...).
  • The involvement of young religious in formation (SDB, FMA, Caritas, SIHM, DQM, SQM.... ) is highly recommended by the EAO SDB regional councillor.
HOW are these SF days organized?
  • Due to the virtual - online nature of the event there are 3 levels (World-Region-Province)
  • World level: followed through the ANS Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/agenziaans
  • EAO regional level: meeting on the zoom platform provided by the EAO organizers, materials from the SC secretariat Rome
  • Province level: depends on the specific arrangements e.g. THA province meets offline in the provincial house 15-17 Jan; GIA province meets in February, other provinces are still planning...

WHEN are the SF days online happening?

  • January 15: Day 1 of the event, you can check on the time-zone table for the timetable in your country - province
  • January 16: Day 2 of the event, prayer, testimonial - experience sharing, group workshop
  • January 17: Day 3 (Sunday) Eucharist celebrated by the Rector Major

Call For Action:

  • In order to be updated re the SF Spirituality Days (Moved by Hope): FB pages: https://www.facebook.com/salesianfamilyeao
  • In order to participate each SF member or youth is invited to register online: https://forms.gle/A1ggigBkfkCdwr2S6

We hope and pray that this first historic EAO Salesian Family online meeting will be a fruitful experience. We are 'MOVED BY HOPE' ... also in this preparation stage that we can awake and involve many Salesian Family members!
