Hanoi, Vietnam, 21 November 2024 -- On Tuesday morning, 19 November 2024, Salesian members of Vietnam North Delegation gathered at Don Bosco Van Phuc to celebrate Mission Day.
Bishop Louis Nguyen Anh Tuan, Bishop of Ha Tinh Diocese, the Delegate Superior Fr Thomas Vu Kim Long, Fr Joseph Bui Anh Dung Delegate for the Missions, Salesians, FMA sisters, VDBs, Cooperators, and the ADMA were all present.
This year, the Province of Saint John Bosco celebrates the 25th anniversary of the first Ad Gentes Mission (1999 - 2024). This is an important milestone for the members of the Salesian Family to reflect and deepen their missionary spirit. ‘Evangelization in the Ministry of Family’, the theme of Mission Day, was shared by Bishop Louis with the attendees. He presented the problems of family life in keeping the faith, especially in the context of migrants, especially young people.
In the homily, Fr Thomas invited everyone to be convinced that Mission is the DNA of Salesian vocation, following the path of Don Bosco, and we are truly called to live and serve young people in our respective locations and ministry.
