Seoul, Korea, January 2016 - In the usual winter period (winter vacation in Korea) from December 27, 2015 until February 20, 2016 the Salesian Seminarian School is going on in the Dae Rim Dong community, Seoul.


There are 7 prenovices from Kwangju Catholic University (2nd year) together with the three 1st year student who recently passed the entrance examination (Ju Han Su, Jeong Seong Hun, Kim Hyun Woo) as well other three prenovices - Kim Kyong Tae, Salesian Brother candidate Jeong Jae Yong and Choi Seok Kyu who is preparing for the entrance exam.


Every morning there is a home-class and in the afternoons different learning experience (carpentry, ceramics or visits to other Salesian communities and Salesian Family formation houses (FMA and Caritas Sisters of Jesus) in Seoul.


The academic part is composed of Latin, Greek, English language (grammar, reading, conversation), Introduction to the religious life, Salesian spirituality, Writing of Essays and 8 different Workshops.


The Dae Rim Dong community is asking your prayers for the newly joined prenovices, so that they may growth well into the full stature of the consecrated Salesian.


During the 2016 year the Korean province has 2 new novices and 4 novices preparing in these days for their first profession. The pre-novitiate period in Korea is probably the longest in the whole Congregation - for those who graduate the Secondary school it continue at least 5 years! 2 years of Catholic University (called fist pre-novitiate period), 2 years of military service (second pre-novitiate period) and at least one year of immediate preparation for the novitiate (third pre-novitiate period).
