Seoul, Korea, 20 January 2016 - At 2:00 pm, Cl. Pius Hwang made his Perpetual Profession at the Salesian Community of Daerim-dong, Seoul. The solemn celebration of the Holy Mass presided by Fr Stephen Yang, SDB, KOR Provincial. 


The parents of Cl. Hwang were present together with about 200 members of the Salesian Family. Likewise, more than 80 boys from the community where he belongs, attended the celebration. These boys were the boys sent by the Juvenile Court for a six-month term.


The case of Cl. Pius Hwang is a rare case because he become a Salesian after finishing seminary studies in the Diocese of Cheongju. After much discernment and prayer, he entered the Salesian novitiate and professed a year after. Moving on, he completed a three-year technical training. Later, he attended the Seoul Diocesan Seminary where most of the Salesians in Korea theology for three years in preparation for their ordination.


"Recognise the beauty and joy of being a religious. Enjoy the faternal life of the community. I wish that you realise that your happiness brings the love of Don Bosco to the young, especially to those most in need." said Fr. Provincial in his homily. 


"Thank God for his mercy that led my son, Cl. Pius to this profession. Now I feel really infinitely happy because my son was able to reach this moment in which he gave himself entirely to God forever after a long journey of 17 years. I will continue to pray that without hesitation he lives a strong perseverance in the call of the Lord." were the word of his mother as a blessing and thanksgiving for his professed son.


Cl. Pius Hwang will be ordained deacon on January 22, 2016 by Msgr. Peter Jeong, OCD, one of the Auxiliary Bishops of the Archdiocese of Seoul.
