Kangwon-do Youth Counseling Welfare Center, Chuncheon City - South Korea, 8 October 2021 -- “Youth is enough to be loved just because you are young.” The relocation and opening ceremony of the Gangwon-do Youth Counseling Welfare Center, an organization specializing in youth counseling and welfare, was held on 6 October at Jungang-ro, Chuncheon City (Kang-won Province, South Korea).

The center opened in 1993 as a comprehensive counseling center for youth in Gangwon-do, and has provided professional counseling services to teenagers, parents, and youth leaders for the healthy growth of teenagers. The 1388 Youth Phone line, which provides 24-hour phone counseling, was also developed to prevent youth problems, educate parents, and develop counseling programs.

Gangwon-do Youth Support Center and Youth Café Bomnae Friends are located on the first floor of the center, which was moved from Soyang-ro to Jungang-ro, supported by the Korean Salesian Province. The opening ceremony was attended by Fr Choi Won-cheol, provincial Korea, and Cheon Mi-kyung, director of the Education Bureau of the Provincial Office of Education. Shin Dong-hyeon, director of Construction company, who worked hard on the building remodeling, was presented with a plaque of appreciation.

Catholic bishop of Chuncheon, Kim Joo-young, said, “Raising people is something that requires effort. It will not be easy to walk together, but I would be grateful if many people put their minds to it.”

Mr Bok-su Choi, governor of the Kang-won Province Administration, said, “Looking back, there is no one who has not passed the age of youth. The provincial government will not spare any support.” Provincial Chairman Kwak Do-young said, “I am reassured that there are 40 counselors working in the field.
