Every 15th of the month the EAO confreres are invited to pray for the Salesians in Indonesia (cf. EAO prayer card).

Since last 2001 the Salesian presence in Sumba Islands of Indonesia is known as a formation center with the novitiate. Thanks to the location in a poor and Catholic background also a small Vocation Training Center (carpentry) was started later on.

During past 15 years the community of Sumba is slowly growing into a more comprehensive setting of two stages of initial formation - prenovitiate and novitiate. The latest development was the launching of government recognized High School (SMK) Don Bosco during the Bicentenary Year of 2015.

The presence of first formal education setting started by the Salesian in Indonesia, becomes a catalyst for a vibrant Salesian charismatic presence, that is also helping the young Salesians to experience better our Charism. There is a complete Salesian Oratorian setting of a playground (daily Oratory), school (FB: Smkdonbosco Sumba), parish (a substation of a local parish) and home (boarding house).

The recent drama for the Don Bosco Feastday celebrations of opening of a new Chemistry laboratory (cf. photos) shows the vibrant educative and pastoral environment of Sumba.
