Don Bosco Vinh Long, Vietnam, 8 June 2022 -- On Sunday morning, 5 June 2022, Don Bosco Dong Thuan Community, Vinh Long, held a solemn Confirmation Mass for 32 of the dormitory students. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Peter Huynh Van Hai, Bishop of Vinh Long diocese. Concelebrating with him were the parish priest, the Salesian priests in the Community, and the priests in the neighboring parishes.
From early in the morning, everyone prepared for the event in a thoughtful and joyful atmosphere. At 9:00 a.m, Bishop Peter was greeted with trumpets and applause from parents and students. After the introduction by the Rector, Fr Paul Nguyen Minh Tuan, the Bishop and the concelebrants had the opportunity to visit the Don Bosco Thuan complex and receive information about its activities and works, especially the vocational school.
Mass began at 9:30 in solemnity and fervor. In his homily, the Bishop invited young people to become soldiers of Christ, to boldly live and bear witness to Him. After the Mass, everyone along with the Bishop, concelebrants, sisters, and brothers gathered in the multi-purpose area of the Community to have a warm, intimate meal of family love.
