Makati City, the Philippines, 12 February 2024 -- The TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) Encounter makes its official comeback after a five-year hiatus, bringing together students from FIN TVET Centers. This year's theme is "The Dream that Makes You Dream," aiming to inspire and motivate students to pursue their passions and aspirations with teachings from Don Bosco.
The event was a success, featuring various activities that engaged the students and fostered a sense of teamwork and rapport between them and their teachers.
On the first day of the TVET Encounter, Fr. Juvelan Samia, SDB, shared a talk to the students about the theme "The Dream that Makes You Dream," which captivated the hearts of the listeners as he shared how Don Bosco transformed the lives of his students from being wolves to lambs. It was followed by the Cultural Dance Presentation and a goodnight talk by the Provincial Superior Fr. Gerardo Martin, SDB.
The second day commenced with a range of fun games and activities for the participants. The event is designed to demonstrate the skills and talents of TVET students and trainers and foster camaraderie and networking among them. It was followed by the closing remark from the Executive Director of Don Bosco-One TVET Philippines, Inc., Fr. Jose Dindo Vitug, SDB.
The TVET Encounter is an excellent opportunity for the TVET community to learn from each other, enjoy themselves, and celebrate their achievements. The event was attended by more than 2,000 students in all FIN TVET Centers in the Philippines and was held at Don Bosco Technical Institute – Makati on February 9 and 10, 2024.
