EAO 2018 Animation of the GEX does continue

Manila, the Philippines, 24 July 2018 -- The two World councilors, Alberto Piedade & Angel Gudiña, continued their animation representing the World Confederation in the EAO region to the FIN Province (North Philippines).


The journey commenced with a welcoming dinner upon their arrival organized by the Makati Chapter Officers with DBAPNF President of National Federation, Mr. Joseph Marquez and the Federation National Secretary, Ms. Juvy Montalbo. Also present were the Provincial of FIN, Fr. Anthony Paul Bicomong, the two SDB Delegates to past pupils from FIN (Fr. Exequiel Veloso) and FIS (Bro. Louie Domasian) and Delegate of Salesian Family-FIN, Fr. Bobby Roxas.


On Wednesday, July 25 the councilors visited the DB Technical Institute and the Printing School (Don Bosco Press) in Makati prior to visiting Don Bosco Mandaluyong, where President of the Chapter, Mr. Fletcher Aquino brought them around DB Technical Institute Workshops, Joey Velasquez's Artworks, Past Pupils of Mandaluyong Hall donated by the institute. Moreover, in Mandaluyong there is also BICC (Bosconian International Chamber of Commerce) whose President, Mr. Arnel Dimalanta, also is the Vice-President of National President of the Philippines DB Past Pupils.


DB Technical Institute in Tarlac, where councilors received a special welcome by the Rector, Fr. Jerry Santos, SDB and by the students (Dream@9 Choir and Dance Group), and lunch with the Past pupils.


A presentation by the Delegate, Fr. Ike Veloso, SDB on the Strategic Plan, SWOT Analysis and Ways Forward for the National Federation and all the chapters, whilst also video presentations and reports from each chapters of their activities and programs to the councilors.


Despite of running late of schedule, they reached even Pampanga (Bacolor campus) and met with the past pupils of the school, which suffered a tragic natural disaster 27 years ago due to eruption of mount Pinatubo in 1991. Then after 4 years the entire area of Don Bosco Academy Pampanga was buried. Last night, was a special gathering and the excitement of the Past pupils, whom after two decades were invited back to relive the spirit of Don Bosco. The long day was concluded with a visit to the new school relocated in Mabalacat (Don Bosco Academy) after the lahar disaster.


Next step will be the Philippines South province Alumni and schools visit.
