Auckland, New Zealand, 11 February 2016 - The 2016 Salesian Mission Day with focus on Oceania brings its first fruits! With the recent coming of Fr. Joseph Binh Pham from Vietnam strengthen the Auckland community of Massey-Avondale grows stronger.
'Our multicultural parish foster initial proclamation of Jesus in different ways. The 'Catholic Enquiry Evenings' are excellent avenue to reach out to those who do not know Jesus. We also actively encourage parishioners to share their faith to all. We have stories of parishioners who begin a conversation around life and faith after an initial exchange of greetings in places like the cafe'. This welcoming, inviting approach from a happy person who has experienced the Risen Lord in his/her life is a very powerful way of stirring up interest in others to know Jesus Christ' (Fr. Mathew)
The Cagliero11 (February 2016) brings the full version of Fr. Mathew life sharing as 'Missionary among Migrants in the Land of the long white cloud' - as part of the one year long movement around the Congregation to make known all Salesian presences in the Pacific. The missionary drive of our parish communities in Avondale - Massey is really inspiring!
In the meantime also the 6 videos for the Salesian Mission Day 2016 are online. So far not yet on the official channel of Torino Mission Office (Missioni Don Bosco), but on the well organized China province Youtube channel in Italian language with chinese subtitles.
