EAO, 16 February 2021 -- During the third EAO Eco Team online meeting (Feb 15, 2021) we were happy to host the Don Bosco Green Alliance main office (location Mumbai - India) team - Mr. Macson Almeida and Ms. Malka Doshi, to get an update on the DBGA world level animation and communication platforms (Facebook, Website, Newsletter, Blog, Instagram and Twitter). We are also happy to welcome Fr Peter Smith (THA), Fr Mario Gaspar (Mongolia), two Caritas Sisters (DB Caritas School, Santa Rosa, FIN), Mr Buboy (SYM - FIS) and congratulate the fidelity of the consistent participants from Cambodia, China-HK, Korea and Vietnam, total of 18 members.

The EAO Eco Team members received an update on the Don Bosco Green Alliance (https://donboscogreen.org) in the world, today present in 70 countries with 393 registered Salesian Family institutions (Don Bosco schools, Salesian cooperators, Youth Centers, Parishes etc), while in the EAO region there are now 61 registered institutions or members in 14 EAO countries, 12 EAO provinces and 3 delegations.

Although there was no in-depth sharing of some EAO best practices, the participants were updated on DBGA priorities that, following the post GC28 guidelines of the Rector Major, also includes the 'Salesian Green Campus' target. Together with Ecological education, Ecological spirituality and Youth campaign participation there are 4 major priorities emerging for 2021.

Since the majority of the DBGA members around the EAO region are just 'newcomers' the main interest is in sharing concrete grass root level experience. One SDB asked how to share effectively? - Indeed there is a simple but challenging answer: simply start from your 'STORY-TELLING' through simple 1 minute videos (Instagram or FB), or inspire with a simple photo-report with few sentences of text. Until the next EAO Eco Team meeting in March each participant is encouraged to produce one simple story that may inspire others to ACT for the sake of our common home.

Last, but not least, as the opening prayer of this online encounter, all participants enjoyed the Caritas Sisters of Jesus' song: 'Our Common Home', composed by Sr Elizabeth Maeda Chiaki for their upcoming General Chapter in September 2021.
