40 years of communicative passion for the young

By Bro. Carmelo Martinez, SDB

Makati City, the Philippines, 11 March 2019 -- Simple Monday morning prayer and good morning talk given by Br. Carmelo Martinez, shared with more than 60 Salesian Lay Mission Partners at 7:30 in the Hall of the Don Bosco Press offices on the 2nd floor of Salesian Provincial House in Makati. Talk is about one of the 'main values' of DB Press 'Care for the Environment'. Together with the Printing Services staff and Baguio, Visayas and Mindanao offices almost 200 staff make up the large family of Don Bosco Press, Inc. today.

For the past 40 years the DB Press, through various challenges, has been growing: In 1979, the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco salvaged the printing equipment of its technical high school in Makati and founded a company to serve the printing needs of its educational and evangelizing apostolates and named it Don Bosco Press, Inc. (DBPI). Headquartered in Makati City, DBPI evolved through growth and acquisition from being a small backyard printing press into the respected printing press it is now.

DBP attributes its phenomenal growth and continuous success to its culture of quality, its commitment to excellence, and its distinct family spirit. Today, DBPI sees itself as a Catholic educational publishing and printing organization with a training institution that provides quality products and services, as a means of evangelizing and contributing to the transformation of society. The company is committed to living the following values: Salesian Spirituality, Integrity, Passion for Excellence, Diligence and Perseverance and Care for the Environment. At present there are 3 services of the DB Press: SalesianaBooks, Printing Services and School of Printing (Vocation training center).

SALESIANABOOKS - DBPI publishes textbooks for basic education needsthrough its SalesianaBooks brand. Believing in Quality Education through Quality Textbooks, Salesiana Books ensures that all its textbooks are morally upright, up-to-date, and enhanced with teaching and learning tools.

PRINTING SERVICES, living its philosophy of Excellence within Reach! is committed to provide clients customized and personalized assistance to meet their printing requirements.

SCHOOL OF PRINTING is the company’s contribution to the Philippine printing and publishing industries. This is the only printing and publishing training institution that gives students hands-on experience enabling them to be among the most sought-after skilled workers after graduation.
