Jakarta, Indonesia (INA), 26 July 2024 -- Taking advantage of the presence of Father M.C. George Menamparampil SDB in Indonesia, Fr Yohanes Boediraharjo SDB as the Provincial Economer invited ten lay persons, some of them are Salesian Cooperators or aspirants of Salesian Cooperators, to understand the nature of the Salesian Mission Office. Also present were Fr Vincentius Prastowo SDB (the incoming Provincial of INA) and Fr Adie SDB.
Fr George talk about the importance of the Salesian Mission Office. Basing our work on the Word of God, “I want mercy, not sacrifice,” we Salesians work for the young, especially the poorer ones. We invite lay people to share our mission of bringing God’s love and mercy to the young in need. The public, people of all faiths and communities need to know what Salesians are doing, how we do it and, above all, why we do it. People of good heart will then become partners with us in God’s work. The Salesian Mission Office concentrates on looking for local resources so that we can reduce our dependence on foreign benefactors.
