A service to communion
Salesians worldwide, 8 February 2020 -- During the last few months we have seen the renewed website of the Salesian Congregation (world level: https://www.sdb.org) as well the renewed website of the FMA Sisters (world level: https://www.cgfmanet.org) and also some provinces of the Salesian Cooperators have adjusted their website to known standards of smartphones, like the Korea ASC (website: https://asscc.kr/ ).
Behind each of the renewed websites are the webmasters or administrators - SDB world website - Br. Hilario Seo(Korea), among the FMA world website team also Sr. Clara Vu (Vietnam) and as with any ASC provincial website, the members of Korean provincial council (vocation - social communication - economy) are in charge as team administrators. We are grateful for their patient and constant work in front of PC screens for hundreds of hours.
In our digital world we can't grow as a Salesian Family without these precious tools of digital platforms, social networks: they are not only the window to the world, bringing the news, resources or formation materials. These well-made, attractive and simple tools are important for institutional visibility, for vocation promotion, for linking their members within a province, a region or worldwide.
Especially for busy lay people like Salesian Cooperators, without their digital platform even initial formation would be compromised. On the Korean ASC website you may access the 'Formation School' talks for Aspirants available online
Don Bosco wrote a strong invitation in his Circular to Salesians about spreading sgood books (19 March 1885). Probably today he would be inviting us to spread the use of these digital tools, also among the senior members of our Salesian Family groups. In Don Bosco's own words: "One of these that I want to warmly recommend to you, for the glory of God and the good of souls, is the spreading of good books. I don’t hesitate to call this means ‘Divine’..."
