Hong Kong, China, 18 February 2020 -- Fr. Stanislaus LOH Tat Cho was born 16 November 1929 in Shanghai, China; made his first religious profession on 16 August 1950 in Hong Kong; had his perpetual profession on 16 August 1956 also in Hong Kong; and was ordained priest on 4 August 1960 in Munich, Germany. He is remarkable for having a magnanimous pastoral heart. Like many other Salesian sons of Don Bosco, he is very devoted to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, has a great devotion to Mary Help of Christians – Our Lady of China. He loved the society and the young people. Besides being an educator of the young and of the faithful, school supervisor for many years, he also served the Church, the Salesian Family and the people of God through Sacred Music. He was a member and a spiritual moderator of Hong Kong Diocesan Sacred Music Commission for 37 years (1982 - 2019). He was cheerful and in good spirits. Even at the end of his life he continued to minister among the senior residence of St Teresa’s Hospital in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Fr Stanislaus returned to the embrace of the Father on 16 February 2020 - Sunday at 5:58 in the afternoon at St Teresa’s Hospital in Kowloon at the age of 90 years and 3 months.
