Don Bosco Secular Institute for Men
Calamba City, Philippines, 18 December 2022 -- It was a happy 8 December 2022 for Volunteers with Don Bosco (CDB) in the Philippines. In line with the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, four CDB members made their profession at the Diocesan Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Calamba City, Laguna Province.
One of the volunteers made his first profession while the other three renewed their temporary profession that day. This brings the number of professed CDBs in the Philippines to four.
Meanwhile, four CDB aspirants together with members of the SDB Post Novitiate community, as well as a representative from the Volunteers of Don Bosco (VDB), assisted in the ceremony. Hopefully, these CDB aspirants may eventually profess in the coming years.
The Mass was celebrated by Fr Vitaliano Dimaranan, SDB, and concelebrated by Fr Bobby Roxas, SDB (FIN delegate for the Salesian Family) and Fr Ritchie Santos, SDB. Fr Eli Cruz, SDB (Ecclesiastical Assistant for the CDB) coordinated the entire event.
Selected friends and family members of the volunteers attended the solemn ceremony. Towards the end of the Mass, brother volunteers from Venezuela, Malta and Mexico gave their heartfelt wishes, virtually. A simple lunch capped the event and, all in all, a blessed morning was experienced by everyone. Also the CDB Central Ecclesiastical Assistant, Fr Joan Lluis Playa, SDB (Delegate of the Rector major for the Salesian Family) sent his congratulations and greetings.
We are grateful for this God blessing and request also your prayers for all CDB around the EAO region, around the world and for their incoming CDB 7th General Assembly (online) from December 27-30, 2022.
