Secretary of the DB Alumni Center, Ulanbaatar

Ulanbaatar, Mongolia, 11 October 2019 -- Thanks to the recent movement over the last two years, we are able to share our simple presentation of how we began our Ulanbaatar DBISTC (Don Bosco Industrial Skills Training Center) Alumni Association. We are glad to share this simple presentation of our two year journey with the following statement: 'WE ARE FORTUNATE TO STUDY IN DON BOSCO Industrial Skills Training Center. In the future, we are excited to say that we are going to work together as a family, and to work together for our Don Bosco school!"

The history starts on 18 January 2018 when five of us met in Brother Andrew Phuong (DBISTC)'s office and now we are already 12 core group members.

We started with a clear vision and 7 goals:

  • To build a bridge between school and our graduates
  • To provide a support network for each other, helping the not yet employed to find jobs
  • To assist present students in various ways and also to promote the school
  • To collect all graduates information and keep in database
  • To introduce our school to the public and increase the number of enrolments
  • To help poor people
  • To join the Don Bosco Alumni Association and share knowledge and experiences

We are quite consistent in working together with this vision

  • We have started a database and already reached 80% of graduates (since 2001)
  • We have held the first major gathering of the Alumni - with 320 participants (May 12, 2018)
  • We made a video advertisement of our school and about successful Alumni
  • We have chosen one youngster to help
  • We give a good morning talk to our Don Bosco students
  • We organize sports competition (December 2018)
