"...nothing is impossible with God" [Lk 1,37]

By SIHM SC

Ratchaburi, Thailand, 27 March 2020 -- On 25 March 2020, on the occasion of Solemnity of the Annunciation, two members of the Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary - Sr. Teresa Janejira Thawanwanakorn and Sr. Maria Yuwadee Kumpai - made their perpetual profession as religious. Four other members - Sr. Cecilia Areerat Prompraisuk, Sr.Paola Keetapat Rakbanthai, Sr.Teresa Sreymech Mao (Cambodia) and Sr.Anna Pannee Wuimae - made their first profession as religious. H.E. Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil, SDB, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Surat Thani, was the main celebrant. Bishop Joseph Pibul Visitnondachai and many other priests concelebrated with him. Sr.Maria Gorretti Maliwan Porramatwirote and many other members of the Congregation joined in the service held at the convent chapel of Narivittaya School, Ratchaburi.

Bishop Prathan shared in his homily that "God relates with humanity by means of a covenant of love. Human love might change, but for God, his love stays forever. May those who made their religious profession be faithful to their promise according to the Constitutions of the Congregation. The vows of chastity, poverty and obedience help us to be free to love God and our brethren more. Do not be afraid to follow God because He will help us, and there is nothing impossible with God.”

After the ceremony, there were expressions of joy for all the newly professed members. Even though there was a simple celebration, even without the presence of the immediate relatives of the Sisters because Covid 19 epidemic, yet the ceremony was solemn and filled with devotion.

The Sisters of the Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary are one of the 32 members of the Salesian Family. They were founded by the late Bishop Gaetano Pasotti, SDB. At present, there are 94 members, 12 communities, 9 schools. Besides these, the Sisters help also in the pastoral work of the Catholic Dioceses of Ratchaburi, Surat Thani, Bangkok and Chiangmai.
