Turin, Italy, January 2020 -- With the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco Association (24 June 1870-24 June 2020) our Past Pupils focus their attention on the roots and branches of their large tree spread all around the world.
While browsing the 50 pages of the recently published 36th issue of the "NEWSFLASH" you may be surprised at the high percentage of articles coming from our EAO Region: news from Japan (personal life witness and feedback on the recent Pope Francis visit), news from Timor Leste (Australian Past Pupil as missionary volunteer in Los Palos), news from Pakistan (launching of the Past Pupils Association and shining witness of Bosconian Martyr Akash Bashir), news from Mongolia (formation activity of Past Pupils with Salesian Cooperators), news from Thailand (social and fundraising events) and news from the Philippines (missionary volunteers experience abroad).
With a few months left before 24 June, the World President, Mr Michal Hort (Slovakia) invites the Association members and Friends of Don Bosco to draw inspiration from the DNA of the Past pupils: "Don Bosco invited the first Past Pupils TO STAY TOGETHER, TO STAY WITH HIM and WITH THE SALESIANS, TO HELP EACH OTHER".
Pondering on the motive of the Past Pupils Jubilee Year celebrations (2020-2021), the World President invites Past Pupils not only to help each other, but also to contribute to the Church and society - "As Jesus came to strengthen our spirituality of gratitude and help to everyone".
For the EAO Past Pupils 2020 is also a special year of their EAO Regional Congress in Tokyo, Japan (4-6 December 2020). For all Past Pupils around the world this year is a special chance to re-discover their roots as 'Upright Citizens and Good Christians' with the 2020 Strenna of the Rector Major.
Let's help the circulation of the digital 'NEWSFLASH' as part of meaningful Jubilee Year celebration, bring it to all EAO Past Pupils to be inspired and feel more the sense of belonging to the worldwide Past Pupils of Don Bosco Association!
