Rome, Italy, 21 May 2016 -- The Salesian Bulletin, simple magazine launched by Don Bosco in 1877 will be next year already 140 years old, during these long years millions of people get in touch and were involved in the mission for the young and the Gospel.

As the Salesian Regulations (art. 41) states: ‘The Salesian Bulletin, spreads knowledge of Salesian spirit and activity, especially in its missionary and educational aspects… it’s as well an instrument for formation and a bond of union between the different branches of the Salesian Family.” In order to keep the original goals, every few years the General councilor for the social communication calls to Rome the 60 different editors to share, exchange their good practices.

In these days (May 19-22) are gathered in Rome the 44 participants from all 7 Salesian regions in order to keep up to the standards wanted by Don Bosco and by the Rector Major today. From our EAO region are present 8 participants: Fr Pedro Leong (CIN), Fr Bernard nolasco (FIN), Mr Mitsuhiro Tateishi (GIA), Fr Shinjiro Urata (GIA), Jose de Sa (ITM), Fr Bosco Lee Jeongeun (KOR), Fr Ahn Francis de Sales (KOR), and Fr Peter Pham Van Chinh (VIE).

‘We have started our 4 days of meeting with a video message of the Rector major sent from Latin America and have been welcomed by Fr. Filiberto. After presentation of each of 44 participants we have started the different working sessions. Fr. Bruno Ferrero, the editor of the Italian edition of the Salesian Bulletin share about the Identity of the Salesian Bulletin.

The method of this formation meeting is made of talk, open forum and working groups (Italian, Spanish and English language groups) where each participant bring 3 striking points he got through the inputs. The group sharing are again shared in the whole assembly. We have also made together a simple SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity and threats) of the Salesian Bulletin in our provinces.
