24 February, via Google Meet --To understand the use and impact of short-form content (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) vs traditional social media (YouTube, Twitter), the Commission on Social Communication (CSCom) of the FIN Province hosted a webinar on this relevant topic.

Mr. Kirby Llaban, an author, motivational speaker, trainer, and songwriter, served as the resource person. Llaban, a Doctorate in Theology candidate at the Loyola School of Theology, is part of Couples for Christ (CFC).

Llaban pointed out that TikTok is unique because it attempts to be the best in its field. It’s mainly dedicated to short-form video content. In this regard, it’s also revolutionary.

The interactive webinar lasted an hour and a half, which gathered the Salesians of Don Bosco, members of the Salesian Family, and young people in attendance.

This online conference is the second installment of Soul Pixels, a series of webinars on social communication, which has been conceptualized to ensure a solid pastoral presence on social media and effectively spread the Gospel’s joy in the young’s language, which is one of the lines of action in the Pastoral Program of the FIN Province.

The third and last installment of Soul Pixels will occur on June 29, 2024.
