Gerak, Indonesia, 5 February 2024 -- People at Gerak station are greatly helped by the presence of Salesian at their place. The presence of the Salesians really brought changes. This change was, of course, very beneficial for the needs that had to be met by the people. The need for drinking water was very important for the lives of the people. When Salesians work at the Gerak station, there is one interesting thing to help with mission work, namely a water filter that provides clean water to drink.

Usually, people here to get clean water have to boil it first or buy mineral water in Labuan Bajo, which is tens of kilometers away; however, now they don't bother going to Labuan Bajo but only come to the Salesian community, bringing 20-liter bottles with the amount of 5000 rupiah, more or less 0.3 euro to get clean water. The people of Gerak felt grateful for the presence of the Salesians, who were able to fulfill their need for drinking water. So, Salesian's mission is to establish closer relationships with the people.
