Caritas Sisters of Jesus, Tokyo, Japan, December 8, 2023 -- The Salesian Family of the Province of Japan is pleased to announce: “On December 8, 2023, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, two sisters made their perpetual vows at the Provincial Chapel of the Caritas Sisters of Jesus in Suginami, Tokyo, and there were three novices who took their first vows.”

Every year, this Solemnity is marked as a special day of gratitude and communion as they celebrate the first and the perpetual profession of the sisters.

Today, we witnessed God’s providence and the fruits of the accompaniment and formation. There are three (3) newly professed sisters and two (2) sisters made final vows to God in the presence of the main celebrant, Most Reverend Bishop Mario Michiaki YAMANOUCHI, SDB Bishop of Saitama, concelebrated with the Provincial Superior Fr. Hamaguchi, SDB and other 17 priests (Salesians, Carmelite, Jesuit, Diocesan Priests, and Vietnamese priests). The Salesian Family with Salesian Sisters and SYM members were a sign of support and encouragement. Families and guests from different places were added to a prayerful atmosphere.

Bishop Yamanouchi said Mary had an annunciation of an angel, which became her mission, just as Don Bosco had dreams and received his mission as well. From this perspective, the Caritas Sisters of Jesus had a moment of annunciation, which was the beginning of serving the needy and the poor in Miyazaki, which continuously lived wherever the sisters were. This broken world needs prophecy, so may these young sisters be the signs of God’s merciful love.

Followed by the reception (program) with around 200 guests, the newly professed sisters and their families were filled with joy and blessing.
