Jakarta, Indonesia, 25 November 2023 -- In November 2023, the Indonesian Province is being visited by Father Joseph Phuoc. On this occasion, Father Joseph was present not only to provide unity for the Salesian Indonesian community with Salesians throughout the world but also to carry out a special task. As 2023 comes to an end, Salesians in the Indonesian Province are entering a new phase. The consultation of candidates to be the new superior for the future of the Salesians in the Indonesian Province is the main focus. Fr. Andrew Wong, SDB, who currently still serves as Provincial, has reached the end of his term. The province of Indonesia is at the stage of looking for a new superior who will continue to make Salesian Indonesia even better and to develop.
The presence of Fr. Joseph Phuoc, SDB to Indonesia is not an ordinary visit. Father Joseph is here to be a bridge to listen to the will of every Salesian about the leader they hope for. This is with the hope that the Salesians in Indonesia will have a provincial who can continue to be a forum for the Salesian mission in Indonesia. So, this important visit is also a strength for the Salesian Family to care for each other and strengthen ties of brotherhood.
