Turin, Italy, 15 March 2023 -- Don Bosco and his boys contemplated the face of the Man of the Shroud twice during two occasions of the exhibition, in 1842 and 1868 - both occasions of a Savoy royal family wedding. In this way we inherited from our Founder this attention to the Shroud.

The 'Sindone' - the Holy Shroud of Turin is among the most precious 'relics' that can help us in our prayer life especially during the Lenten season. Just a few minutes walk from Valdocco's Basilica of Mary Help of Christian, you find the 'Museum of the Holy Shroud' and you can walk another few hundred metres to the Cathedral of Turin (Saint John the Baptist), where the Holy Shroud has been treasured since 1587.

Within the East Asia - Oceania region, many Salesians would know of Fr Gaetano Compri (GIA province), one of the passionate apostles of the Holy Shroud around the world through various publications, now translated from Japanese also to other EAO languages, like Korean and Chinese.

You can visit the 'Museum of the Holy Shroud' in Turin everyday between 3-6 PM, or make a fruitful contemplation on the museum's virtual platforms and through other digital resources on the web: #Holy Shroud, #Sindone.
