Comoro, Dili, Timor Leste, 8 January 2023 -- After five months of waiting for the new Rector for the formation house, there was finally a decision on the person to take care of those who are studying philosophy. Fr. João Roque, SDB was installed in the evening of 4 January 2023 during the Mass celebrated by Fr. Anacleto Pires, SDB. The TLS Provincial pointed out some things in his homily about the main tasks of a Rector, quoting Constitution 55, yet the most important thing is what John the Baptist did when he pointed to Jesus as we hear in the Gosepl. May the new Rector do the same. He will have to take care of the confreres and encourage them together to follow Jesus in the charism of St. John Bosco. But this task is not for the rector only, it will be for the confreres as well. The formation team will be there as an instrument for the confreres. The Rector as a brother among brothers will help the the smooth running of the house and the spiritual life of the confreres.
After the Mass, there was a welcoming ceremony and birthday celebration for the new Rector himself with confreres from three communities in Dili.
