Past Pupils of Don Bosco Federation, Seoul, Korea, 12 December 2022 -- The Annual General meeting and Year-end party of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco Seoul Association, 'Salesian High School’ in Gwangju (established 1956) was held on 8 December 2022 at the Seoul, Riverside Hotel ‘Concert Hall’ involving 270 ‘Salesians’ as they are called. Their Gwangju and Incheon branches held similar events in their respective cities.

Among the participants were also 7 Leaders of Gwangju ‘Salesian Girls High School’ FMA Past Pupils Association and 3 Don Bosco Past Pupils, current National Assembly (Parliament) members. It was really a family gathering with Alumni of 2nd up to the 55th graduating batch. Also the outgoing and incoming President of the DBPP Gwangju High School Association were present.

The 4-hour gathering consisted of a Don Bosco Award Ceremony, established by Seoul Salesio Association. Two outstanding Past Pupils received this honor.

Also the revision of the Seoul Alumni Association Statues was unanimously passed with a new article about the possibility of extending the one-year term of the Association President on for a further 3 terms.

The ‘Future Committee’ raised the scholarship fund for the young Alumni, who attend the University in the capital (distance from Gwangju 300km). Ten current students were selected due to their economic situation and provided with scholarship. This fund was launched since last 2018.

As in the Family the last, but longest item was the Singing Contest ‘for the gentlemen’ with three meaningful awards of 1000 and 500 USD each. Their Girls Salesio High School Past Pupils leadership served as judges, lead by Prof Seong Ak-kwa, Dankook University.

In the busy life of highly competitive South Korean society each familiar moment with dear ‘Salesians’ as they call themselves, is very much appreciated, brings a lot of joy. Good number of the Past Pupils shared their joy and gratitude on the social media afterwards. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2023!
