Melbourne, Vic, 24 September 2022 -- The Salesians of Don Bosco marked the passing to the Lord of Fr Lawrence MOATE on 21st September 2022 at Cabrini Hospital, Malvern Victoria. Fr Moate was born in Melbourne on 21st February 1943.
He joined the Salesians as a Novice in 1960, professed as a Salesian on 31st January 1961, and was ordained a priest on 23rd October 1971. Fr Moate worked as a devoted Salesian Rector, committed Chaplain, Deputy Principal, and Principal in schools, and Parish priest in parishes in South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.
The requiem Mass for Fr Moate will take place at St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church North Brunswick on Wednesday 28th September 2022 at 11:00am. Followed by burial service, which will take place at the Salesian Cemetery in the grounds of Salesian College Sunbury at 1:30pm.
