Paranaque, The Philippines, 15 September 2022 -- During this Season of Creation, the Knights of Columbus and the Disaster Response Team of the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians Parish embarked on "Community Plant Tree Project." They were inspired by the organic movement of Community Pantry at the height of the pandemic and would like to help parishioners to be self-sufficient and productive.

With a variety of seedlings, over 200 parishioners may be able to harvest their own vegetables from their own backyard. Likewise, about 300 seedlings were given to Paranaque Science High School.

At the height of the pandemic, quite a number of elderlies in the community became "plant parents." The passion to grow plants as a new hobby, have worked wonders for their overall well-being.

Thus, those who were able to get free seedlings from this project which was held on Sept. 12 at the Parish's Flea Market, look forward to cooking their harvest soon.

The Knights of Columbus and the Disaster Response Team are among the active organizations under the Commission on Service and Human Promotions, coming up with projects that they think are appropriate to the needs of Bgy. Don Bosco community.
