Comoro, Dili, Timor-Leste, 13 September 2022 -- The Season of Creation 2022 with the theme “Listen to the Voice of Creation” started on September 1 (the day of praying for the care of creation) and it will end on October 4 (Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of Ecology). In time for this celebration, the Community of St. John Bosco Comoro, Dili (Training Centre) showcased their agricultural production. Bro. Benjamin and Bro. Hortencio together with the boarders were preparing the nursery- planted and harvested some. They have planted different kinds of vegetables such as lettuce, cabbage, spinach and others.

This is a movement of Laudato Si', which takes part in the Salesian Mission, comes with the principle of changing of mindset and lifestyle from buying to planting in our own yard. It encourages starting something small by utilizing the backyards at home for planting in order to lessen expenses. Sometimes people might think that this is only 5 cents, so we easily go and buy them. By planting and not buying, we have contributed to the Laudato Si' movement.

Let’s be part of the Laudato Si' movement by:

1. Showing awareness on the care of creation

2. Engaging oneself in advocating the Laudato Si (starting from ones very home then to the vicinity)

3. Do some action on Laudato Si

Those steps could be done periodically or simultaneously.

The natural catastrophes are day by day becoming more serious and have taken away so many lives of human being and animal and even nature has been suffered due to our human negligence. There is a need to do something in order to lessen those natural calamities! It is very little and simple but at the same time it has a global impact on the care of our common home.
