Neri, South Korea, 13 August 2022 -- Since 2019, as rector of the seashore Salesian retreat house in Neri - South Korea (150 km from Seoul) Fr Stefano Yang, SDB, lives more than ever with his passion to share the Word of God, living it day by day. Indeed since May 2011, he has posted no fewer than 1923 daily 'Meditations' items of the daily Gospel, posted on the Korean SDB website (http://ibosco.net), with his nickname 'Shepherd' (Yang-chi-gi).

To share the Word of God every day through one's own personal faith experience requires passion, discipline and concentration. Thanks to this persistent and down-to-earth sharing, Fr Yang was invited to contribute to the weekly Catholic newspaper (http://www.cpbc.co.kr/newspaper) and 'Bible and Life' - the Caritas Sisters of Jesus published monthly magazine (https://www.biblelife.co.kr/main/index). In turn, monthly articles of Fr Stefano were later collected and published in 6 different collections.

Looking around the EAO region, we find other similar experiences, mostly on the Sunday Gospel reading: Audio-divina in Australia, by Fr Francis Moloney, SDB; Gospel-centered homilies in the Philippines, by Bishop Patrick Buzon, SDB or Sunday Gospel on Vietnamese SDB YouTube channel. Beside these individual sharings in the EAO region we also notice a 'Team-made' daily Salesian Lectio Divina by Argentina SDBs (since the reconfiguration of the 5 provinces into two provinces) since 2007 in the digital space - https://donbosco.org.ar/home/evangelio.

There are different fruits of this daily digital Word's sharing - for the writer himself it's a life witness of transparent Gospel life, for the readers of this daily 'Meditations' it is an inspiration to take God who is speaking amidst of our daily life more seriously and personally.

We are grateful to Fr Yang and other confreres with a similar passion for listening, meditating on and sharing the Word of God. And we pray that their example may stir thirst for the Word of God in many young people!
