Ha Noi, Vietnam, 4 August 2022 -- Last Sunday, July 31, 2022, the aspirants in Hanoi attended their recollection at Nong Vu church to end their school year. After twenty-two years of Salesian presence in the North, these are the first batch to search for a vocation, and it is organized right at a Salesian house. In this coming school year there will be two aspirants moving to a new phase in Saigon. They will have one year of preparation to enter the Prenovitiate House. Some other aspirants are to join the next batch in Nong Vu.
It is indeed a gift of God for vocation work in the North of Vietnam. In 2018 Frs Dominic Chỉ and J. Bosco Triển were assigned to Nong Vu church. From then on, they started to search for Salesian vocations in different groups of students in the Universities in Hanoi. After four years of hard work, this is the first fruits and we expect more new aspirants.
The Salesians in the North are heading to the 70 years celebration of the First Salesian Presence in Vietnam. It will be held on October 3, 2022. How meaningful it is when more young people find their God's will to become Salesians. Let us pray for more vocations in the North as well as the whole Salesian province of Vietnam.
