Economy Sector, Rome, 23 July 2022 -- On the website of the incoming worldwide 'Salesian Economy Congress', to be held at the UPS (Salesian Pontifical University in Rome, Italy) next September 13-19,2022, the digital clock tells you that this event will start in 58 (days) - 19 (hours) - 8 (minutes).

It is probably the first such attempt to launch a Salesian world level event with an all transparent and preventive mindset. Every Salesian confrere, lay mission partner, Salesian benefactor or any outsider has been able to follow the preparations since last January 2022 on the 'SDBChange' website - YouTube - Facebook.

One of the striking approaches is the one or two minute short video clips by good number of lay economy experts or professionals, but also by a variety of SDB provincial superiors from many SDB regions. You may watch the points of 3 EAO provincials - Fr Gerry Martin (FIN), Fr Bosco Aung (MYM) or Fr Fidel Orendain (FIS) or even Fr Adolfo Sarmento from Timor Leste (provincial of Mozambique).

Their points range from what makes the Salesian economy strong, to solidarity, transparency and accountability, use of modern technologies, focus on the mission for poor young people and more open collaboration with civil society entities.

This Congress is a good opportunity for every Salesian to get updated in matters of economy and the social interface of our Congregation, facing many challenges and opportunities of our times. Don't miss this opportunity not only for SDB 'administrators - bursars - economers' but for all sons and daughters of Don Bosco.
