Don Bosco Xuan Hiep, Vietnam, 30 May 2022 -- At 8:00 a.m. on May 28, 2022, at Don Bosco Xuan Hiep Church, Linh Xuan, Thu Duc, Bishop Dominic Nguyen Van Manh, Bishop of the Diocese Da Lat ordained a number of priests and deacons.

Attending the Mass were Father Provincial, Barnabas Le An Phong, superiors, Salesians, Family, benefactors of candidates and many other people.

This year, the Salesian Province of Don Bosco Vietnam has been pleased to present the following candidates to the Bishop and the People of God:

       - 3 candidates for the Diaconate: Cl Joseph Ho Chinh, Cl Anton Ngo Manh Lam, Cl Joseph Pham Van Thong.

       - 7 candidates for the Priesthood: Peter Nguyen Van Chien, Joseph Nguyen Ho Diep, Joseph Tran Bao Lam, Joseph Vu Dang Hoang Oanh, Joseph Nguyen Cao Thai, Joseph Cao Duy Vu, Joseph Trinh Van Vinh.

The Mass took place in a sacred and solemn atmosphere; along with the harmonious rhythm of the liturgical celebration, the community was drawn to the center of the altar, where Christ is present in the sacrifice offered to God the Father.

In his homily, the Bishop highlighted the image of Moses as a model of those who pray for the people, and according to him, that is also the first mission that deacons and priests must fulfill. Not stopping there, especially for the Salesians, the Bishop repeated the messages of Pope Francis to the Salesians at GC 28 to inspire candidates to be loyal to their mission to serve young people, and be happy with the noise of children playing as background music in all their activities. All of these aspects will come together in the central point of being a servant following the example of Jesus the Good shepherd.

After the homily, the ordination ceremony was conducted in a holy atmosphere.

Before the end of Mass, Father Barnabas, on behalf of the province, thanked the Bishop. In response, the Bishop also conveyed a simple and friendly sentiment to the Congregation and the families of the newly ordained.

The Mass closed with countless graces given by God not only to the new ordained but also to the whole community with a spreading and lasting holy joy.
