Tetere, Solomon Islands, 27 May 2022 -- “Have devotion to Mary Help of Christians and you will see what miracles are.”

It was indeed a time of grace and miracles for Christ the King Parish Tetere, Solomon Islands, as they celebrated the Solemnity of the Feast of Mary Help of Christians on 24 May 2022.

For the first time in the parish, a nine-day Novena beginning from 15-23 May was held prior to the Feast Day which saw many families and young people in attendance.

The solemn celebrations began with a colorful candlelight procession from the grotto of Don Bosco Rural Training Center (DBRTC), reciting the Rosary and singing hymns to our Blessed Mother. The Procession and carrying of the statue of Mama Mary was led by the ADMA members. Hundreds of people participated in the Procession.

The Litany of the Virgin Mary was recited at the Marian Grotto of the Parish. It was followed by the Holy Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Parish Priest Fr. Robinson Parappilly sdb.

In his homily, Fr. Robinson narrated the miracle of Don Bosco curing the blind girl. He explained the history of the Feast of Mary Help of Christians and how Don Bosco propagated the feast at the Basilica of MHC and was now celebrated by the entire Salesian family.

During the solemn Mass, 23 new ADMA members made their promise and received holy articles of the Virgin Mary blessed and distributed by Fr. Bai. As a sign of their love, appreciation and thanks giving, the ADMA members sang a beautiful hymn to our Blessed Mother.

A sumptuous dinner was served to all who attended the celebration. Many families and people returned to the Faith as miracles continue to happen in the parish. We thank our Blessed Mother for her protection and guidance for our parish community.
