Don Bosco Provicialate, Anisakan, Myanmar, 7 May 2022 -- On 2 May 2022, Fr. Saw Thi Han Lwin Charles, SDB was installed as the new rector of Don Bosco Vocational Centre, Hlaing Tha Yar, Yangon, for a three-year term of office. We began a simple and profound ceremony of installation at 7:00 a.m, integrated with the Holy Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Bosco Zaya Aung, SDB (the superior). Due to the political situation, only a few Salesians, FMA Sisters, and lay mission partners could take part in the ceremony. At the end of the Holy Mass, a well-prepared breakfast was served to all participants.

Fr. Saw Charles was born on 17 August 1962. He made his first profession on 8 February 1984. He made his Perpetual Profession on 3 February 1991. Finally, on 5 May 1991, he was ordained as a Salesian priest. In the past, he served the young as the rector of different communities, and the parish priest in the Salesian Mission. He was also appointed as the superior of the Vice-Province of Myanmar by the present Rector Major, Fr. Angel Fernandez Artime, for a term of 6 years.

Let us continue to pray for Fr. Saw Charles, so that he may constantly be able to offer himself for the service of authority in the local community, serving the confreres and the young people with the heart of the Good Shepherd and the spirit of our Founder, Don Bosco.
